Discover Lanzarote Your island guide from Gueldera Apartments, Puerto del Carmen

The volcanic island that never disappoints

Lanzarote is a unique volcanic island in the Atlantic: a lunar landscape in Timanfaya National Park, white-sand coves like Los Pocillos and Playa Papagayo, wineries where vines grow in volcanic ash, and a local-produce gastronomy that has won Michelin recognition.

From Gueldera Apartments in Puerto del Carmen, you have immediate access to Blue Flag beaches, seafront restaurants, car hire and island-wide excursions. All just 300 metres from the sand.

Beaches: 300 metres of sand and crystal water

Los Pocillos and Los Charcos beaches are a short walk from Gueldera. Calm water, gentle waves and golden volcanic sand: perfect for swimming, snorkelling or simply relaxing. Twenty minutes away by car, Playa Papagayo offers five unspoilt coves sheltered by cliffs.

Gastronomy: local produce with a Michelin stamp

Mojo rojo, wrinkled potatoes, grilled octopus and Lanzarote goat cheese are the stars of an authentic Canarian cuisine. Along the Puerto del Carmen seafront promenade you will find everything from beachside chiringuitos to internationally recognised restaurants.

Nature: Timanfaya and César Manrique's volcanoes

Timanfaya National Park, 30 minutes by car, is an otherworldly landscape: thousands of hectares of solidified lava where the Earth's inner heat reaches the surface. The Jameos del Agua and César Manrique's Art, Culture and Tourism Centre integrate art and nature in a unique way.
